This straight artery clamp is very useful in a home birth of your dog or cat. You can secure the artery clamp, so you have your hands free.
The straight artery clamp can be used to clamp the umbilical cord of the puppies or kittens; the artery clamp can avoid slipping back of the afterbirth in the birth canal. With the teeth of the artery clamp we imitate - by squeezing close together in the umbilical cord in multiple places - the bite of the bitch or cat.
You can also use an artery clamp for pinching off the umbilical cord and then to the umbilical cord with a sterile wire to bind tightly.
An artery clamp is also sometimes used for grooming to remove excess hair from the ears.
