Sterile umbilical cord yarn

Three pieces of 45 cm umbilical thread. Sturdy braided thread to tie off umbilical cords. This stops the bleeding of the cord.

This thread dissolves by itself, and it is not a problem if the mother or a pup accidentally swallows a piece of thread.

How do you tie off an umbilical cord?

It may seem complicated an first, but it is actually a very simple knot, in which you do everything one time extra. You could call this method to tie off the umbilical cord the "one-time-extra-to-be-sure method".

It's like a flat knot, but you do everything once more just to be sure.

Normally you would go around the umbilical cord once, but now you go around the umbilical cord twice with the umbilical cord thread.
Then you would cross the cord once to make a knot, but now you do this an extra time. And then you pull the cord tightly around the umbilical cord.
Then make another knot just to be sure. And the umbilical cord is neatly tied off!
