Natural spray to help your pet relax
Pet Remedy is a unique combination of natural oils. It has a calming and immediate effect. It makes your pet more relaxed and receptive in a simple way.
In times of stress or anxiety the nerves are over-stimulated, leading to various signals that we recognise as stress in our pets. Pet Remedy has unique and natural combination oils based on valerian.
The Pet Remedy Welcome Home Set contains 15ml calming spray, a 60-day working power point vaporiser and a set of calming wipes. These wipes can be placed in the crate or carrier, for example, or rubbed over the fur.
Pet Remedy works by mimicking the calming mechanism GABA (gamma-amino butyric acid), a natural sedative present in all mammals, reptiles and birds. When a pet becomes stressed or anxious, its nerve cells are tense (controlling mechanism for muscles etc.). Pet Remedy makes the brain send a relaxing signal to the nerve cells. This causes the muscles to relax, thus calming the animal. Pet Remedy is a unique and patented formula consisting of 4 different oils, each with its own proven calming effect.
The calming spray is water-based and pH neutral. Can be used on the move and/or at home.
Spray on bedding, bandana or spray a little on your fingers and gently rub around the muzzle, under the chin and on top of your pet's chest.
Only a few sprays are necessary to give between 2 to 6 hours of relaxation. Effectiveness depends on the animal.
For pairing rabbits, spray Pet Remedy on a cloth or fingers and gently rub it around the animal's chest. This helps to exchange odours and to calm down, which in turn helps to speed up the bonding process. The same procedure can be used for bonding other pets, such as dogs, cats, rodents and horses.
Avoid spraying in the vicinity of small mammals and birds as they have a small lung capacity. It is best to spray a little on a cloth and then place the cloth near the animal.
When walking or training a nervous dog, spray a little on a bandana, on a damp cloth or your fingers and rub gently around the muzzle and on the top of the chest. The same applies for horses.
It is also possible to apply the spray to your trouser leg and bring the dog to his heel to take Pet Remedy.
Valerian is an herb with short rhizomes, aromatic feathered leaves and clusters of a small pink or white flower. There are more than 260 different species of Valerian worldwide, but only a few have sedative properties. The best results can be obtained from Valeriana or Cinalis. Many Valerian preparations are too powerful and can activate rather than soothe. Pet Remedy has a (proven) low concentration, which makes it soothing. The vaporiser delivers a constant slow release. The calming sprays and wipes are water-based.
Pet Remedy's Valerian oil is obtained by cold extraction from the rhizomes of the plant, Valeriana Or Cinalis and has been used for centuries as an effective and safe sedative. Valerian is extracted in Europe, where our valerian plants are grown organically using only pig manure as fertiliser.
Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) is a tough, aromatic grass and its essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the roots of this grass. This type of grass belongs to the same botanical family as lemongrass, citronella and palmarosa. This plant is valued for its calming properties.
It is extracted by steam distillation from the washed, chopped, dried and soaked roots and rootlets. Its aroma is very earthy. Vetiver used comes from Haiti and Java.
Basil (Ocimum basilicum) is an aromatic herb with lush green leaves. The essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from the leaves and tips. It is used in aromatherapy for its soothing effect. This basil is cultivated in Europe and Egypt.
Clary sage (Salvia Sclaria) is a biennial herb, native to the Mediterranean region and parts of Europe. Clary sage oil is extracted by steam distillation from the buds and leaves of the clary sage plant. This herb has been highly praised throughout history as a medicinal plant, especially for its calming properties. Our essential oil of clary sage is grown in France.
