Easy home test for Parvo, Corona and Giardia - 1 time use
The manual only comes in the Dutch language
The test works pretty much like a corona home test, only you stick the swab into your dog's or cat's poo.
There is a clear manual with the Parvo home test that is easy to follow.
Within 10 minutes you will know if there is Parvo, Corona or Giardia in the poo.
1 dash = no particles detected in the poop
2 dashes = unfortunately, your dog or cat has Parvo, Corona or Giardia
Rapid test for the detection of Parvo, Corona and Giardia in dog and cat faeces. Since 99% of the DNA structure of Canine Parvovirus matches that of Feline Parvovirus, pathogens for both species (dog and cat) can be detected with one detection.
If an infection with Parvo or Giardia is present, immediate treatment is important and you should also take immediate hygiene measures in your own household to combat the particularly persistent pathogens. With the Fassisi Parvo, you get results very quickly, so no time is lost in the follow-up.
The rapid test uses a coupling technique based on blue latex particles. The latex particles give the test line a particularly intense colour result when the result is positive (high sensitivity), so that the smallest concentrations of Giardia cysts can be reliably detected.
The rapid test comes with a clear manual with text and pictures. Read the instructions carefully before taking a test. INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN DUTCH ONLY!
The virus is easily and quickly detectable in the faeces of sick animals with the Fassisi Triple Diarrhoea rapid test. This validated rapid test is highly reliable and can be performed independently at home. It is important to work hygienically. As the virus is very persistent, it is important to perform this test on animals with symptoms that could fit Parvo or Giardia, so that treatment can be started as soon as possible in case of a positive result.
Therefore, in case of a positive test result, it is very important to visit your vet as soon as possible with the animal and the test carried out.
Parvo is a highly contagious virus that can cause diarrhoea (sometimes bloody), vomiting, lethargy, muscle weakness and fever. The risk of infection with parvo virus is highest for puppies aged between 6 and 12 weeks. The risk of mortality is then very high (up to 50%). In adult animals, the infection is often less visible. Diarrhoea can range from mild to severe but can also be fatal to the animal.
Parvo can also occur in kittens and cats. It is also known as feline distemper. Cats can also get sick from canine parvo.
Since parvovirus also attacks white blood cells, the patient's resistance drops and the animal also becomes susceptible to other viruses and bacteria.
The disease caused by parvoviruses, Parvovirosis, is mainly spread through faeces. If an animal has parvovirosis and is not treated, for example because the disease has not been detected, there is an increased mortality rate (especially among puppies). With timely treatment, the animal's survival rate is increased by up to 90%. An early diagnosis, therefore, is important to properly treat the sick animal.
Puppies can be vaccinated against Parvo. For more information on Parvo, see: https://www.licg.nl/honden/vaccinatie-van-de-hond/
In case of a positive test, always visit a vet.

Parvovirus: sensitivity 93.33%, specificity 99.99%
No test is flawless. The Fassisi self-test has a sensitivity/sensitivity of 93.33%. This means that if you perform the test on an animal that has Parvo, it will be correctly diagnosed in 93.33 per cent of cases. In other words, in 6.67 per cent of cases, the test is false negative. Your dog or cat has Parvo, but it is not detected by the test.
Specificity means that if the test is positive, in 99.99% of cases Parvo is actually present. There is a 0.01% chance that the test does say your animal has Parvo, but that your animal does not actually have it.
By doing several tests at different times, or repeating the test at a vet, you increase the chance of a correct diagnosis.
